The Association of Austrian Mountain and Ski Guides (VÖBS) is the central professional body representing around 1,500 state-certified mountain and ski guides in Austria. As a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA), VÖBS stands for the highest level of alpine expertise, safety, and responsible guiding in the mountains.

The training to become a certified mountain and ski guide is among the most demanding worldwide and covers all alpine disciplines.

SKIMO Austria

is the central platform for competitive ski mountaineering in Austria and part of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV). Since 2001, SKIMO Austria has been promoting ski mountaineering as a high-performance sport at both national and international levels — with passion and strong commitment.
