On tour your PIEPS beacon is exposed to extreme conditions such as sub-zero temperatures and humidity.

 

Therefore we recommend a device service of your PIEPS beacon at the manufacturer after 3 years of use.

Why to service your PIEPS beacon?

  • If you are on tour, your PIEPS beacon is exposed to extreme conditions such as sub-zero temperatures and humidity.
  • In accordance to EN 300718, your PIEPS beacon meets the highest technical demands and standards. Despite technology the equipment is subject to aging.
  • For your own safety, please service your PIEPS beacon as you would your vehicle.

 

How often you should service your PIEPS beacon?

PIEPS recommends a Device Service at the manufacturer after 3 years of use.

  • First service after 3 years from the date of purchase
  • Second service after 5 years from the date of purchase
  • After that annually

 

Which performance specifications are included in the PIEPS device service?

  • Inspection of the device
  • Inspection of the antennas
  • Inspection of all transmitting parameters (frequency, pulse length, period length, signal strength)
  • Inspection of the receiving performance
  • Inspection of the mechanical parts (slider, button…)
  • Visual inspection
  • Inspection of the system configuration and firmware
  • Update to the latest firmware (except PIEPS FREERIDE)
  • Inspection report

 

How much is a PIEPS device service?

The costs are € 35, - per device (incl. 20% VAT) plus postage.*
